This slick supernatural thriller, “Speak For The Dead”, harkens to films like “The Silence of the Lambs”, “The Ring” and “The Sixth Sense”. The story features an intricately woven plot, fantastically realistic & diverse characters and a twist ending that will blow audiences away. Featuring a mix of well-developed multicultural characters, the film will strike a chord with audiences from many regions, interests and backgrounds.
A kidnapper of children grips a city in a state of paranoia. Each child he abducts is found murdered exactly seven days later. Four days after young Sydney Caruth turns up missing with no leads from the police, her desperate Mother (Ashley Caruth) and star athlete Father (Kevin Caruth) resort to alternative methods to find her. Ashley believes that her skeptic ex-husband Nathan Flinn has an extra sensory ability that can used to save the girl. An ability that apparently only surfaces when he drinks. Nathan, now a recovering alcoholic, refuses to do what they ask since he doesn’t believe in E.S.P. in the first place.
Instead, he enlists the help of Lady Gloria, a psychic medium that taps channels the souls of the previously murdered children. The woman envisions that Nathan, with the help of two others, will be the one to save the remaining children abducted, including the missing girl. Now pressured by both the living AND the dead, Nathan reluctactantly agrees to take on the mission.
This is where the story kicks into high gear as he teams up with a hilariously sarcastic former “celebrity clairvoyant” named Jacob Cross and a beautiful yet reserved empath named Toni Gresham. As they try to work together they are lead by mysterious clues, visions and warnings of danger. Obstacles abound as they try to navigate past short tempered police detectives, the sadistic killer and the darkly secretive parents themselves, all in order to save the life of a six year old girl with only two days left.
We’re currently in pre-production for an abridged version of the feature film screenplay. These selected scenes from the script will be shot in Atlanta, GA over 2 days during the month of March.
